The Employees of the HCWSA
The Authority employs approximately 180 people to operate the system 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. The policy of the Authority is to employ the minimum necessary to effectively and safely accomplish the job. The cost of all positions is included in the annual operating budget approved by the Board.
The HCWSA employees have won a number of industry and professional awards. In addition, the Authority's management staff, plant operators, and maintenance personnel are required to be certified by the State of Georgia for the execution of specific industry functions. The Authority has a continuing education program to ensure that its personnel are qualified and able to meet the State of Georgia's certification requirements.
